Candlelight Tour of Historic Churches

The Fairfield Heritage Association in cooperation with the churches located in downtown Lancaster, Ohio have offered a Candlelight Tour of Historic Churches every December since 1979. Traditionally held on the second Saturday evening of December, this tour attracts nearly 800 people each year.

Hundreds of candles light the sidewalks in the downtown area as tour-goers are led in groups to visit eight churches between 6 and 9:30 p.m. Each church is wrapped in the warm glow of candles as it welcomes visitors inside for a 15-minute program of music, inspiration and history of the church.
